About L’Annunciazione
This idea of being higher or lower is imperative in gaining a sense of freedom. It is a theme within most people that is very deeply engrained across most topics of life. In this work, derived from Da Vinci’s first attribution, Angel Gabriel joins you at eye-level with his fingers at the threshold of one world and the next. The mirror-inversion is at once a psychological technique (in as much to remove stigmas of hierarchy from one artist or time to another) and a foreshadowing. This work is meant to be a celebration of one’s own arrival in this world and a constant beckoning to receive a sense of independent grace from another, non-physical sense.
